Spring has sprung, the fishing and weather are better by the day! They huge schools of smaller bass have pushed through the canal and are settling in all over the state. Larger class fish in the low 30" range are starting to show up in the mix and will arrive in numbers very soon. The larger baits have also showed up this week LG herring, bunker and mackerel. Are all present now in cape cod waters. Top water spooks as well as 10inch hogy double wides are putting a hurting on the fish. We also targeted some giant scup this week, frying pan size! These provide great table fare and action. They are a great alternative to keeping striped bass! While targeting the scup we saw large numbers of black sea bass as well. Black sea bass season opens on May 19th, these guys are by far the tastiest fish in our waters! So we have plenty of things to look forward to in the coming weeks!
