Great trip this am! I had out Get Tight regular Randy Masters and his long time fly rod friend Ralph. We launched in upper buzzards bay about 5:30 am and were greeted with pea soup fog. Relying on our electronic we slowly motored into the bay with only 100 foot visibility. The plan was to hit some estuaries to find some active fish, as the open water hasn't been fishing well yet. The water temp has been in the low 50's and most of the large schools of fish haven't shown yet. The amount of bait around now is simply staggering, huge schools of adult bunker, river herring and rain bait. Have been present at every spot we fished. Finally we found some warmer water at an estuary mouth, 62 degrees. We waited around a bit as the fog dissipated and were greeted with rolling fish. Over an hour we managed 2 dozen sea lice laden schoolies ranging from 15 inches to 25 inches. All fish were taken on fly and released unharmed. Looking forward to seeing the next size class move in on this bait buffet.
