With water temps over the 70 degree mark most of august has been relatively slow. But with an abundance of pogys and day getting shorter Boston has been primed for an epic fall run. This week things blew wide open. Large bass from 20-45lbs have sniffed out all the bait. Most fish have been caught on structure, shallow boulder fields with a lot of current has been key. We have also been fishing large artificials at night with mixed successes. Smaller fish in the 25-27inch bracket have also filtered in. These fish will provide great light tackle action on spinning gear and fly in the weeks to come.
